Fremont Unified schools API scores

I started this blog as I researched into school districts in the Bay Area as I need to start thinking about my two sons' education. My parents have traveled around the globe in search of a home where they can raise my younger brother and I. Their sole criterion was education, so they say. This emphasis on education was instilled upon all of us by our grandfather. This is just a continuation of that lineage...


Our home is in the Northern Fremont School District
Brookvale Elementary is not bad (2003 API score 833) but the kids can attend Forest Park (API 933). Thornton Jr. High (API 794) should be better by the time our kids attend middle school. American High (API 721) is the worst in Fremont! This means we can still live in my current house for a few more years.


The best school district in Fremont (and the entire Alameda county) is in the Mission San Jose Area. Within it's boundaries are the best high school, Mission San Jose High (API 899), the best middle school, Hopkins Jr. High (API 945) and the best elementary schools Gomes (API 979) and Chadbourne(API 945). This is why the Avalon developers selected the Mission Hills.

Weibel Elementary (API 973) was squeezed out of Mission San Jose by the newly developed million dollar homes in Avalon area. Along with the second best middle school in Fremont, Horner Jr. High (API 818), these students will pull up the score for Irvington High (API 745).

The best school districts in Santa Clara County are Cupertino Union School District, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Saratoga and of course Palo Alto Unified. Are children growing up in Palo Alto are more likely to be accepted into Stanford?
